My week-long experience with Zed editor and the five features that stood out: multi-buffers, speed, Vim support, Claude Code integration, and clean UI design.
I tried the Zed editor: 5 features that stood out

I have been test-driving the Zed editor for a week now, and I'm absolutely loving it!

Here's what stands out the most to me:

👉 Multi-buffers: This is one feature I didn't think I would love so much. Imagine Vim motions with multiple cursors and selections across multiple files — it's Vim on steroids!

👉 Speed: Built in Rust, Zed is incredibly snappy and fast. It's a refreshing change coming from VS Code.

👉 Vim Support: Zed offers first-class support for Vim motions throughout the editor. For me, Vim motions are non-negotiable.

👉 Integrated Claude Code: Claude Code is my preferred AI pair programmer. Zed has recently launched Claude Code support in beta.

👉 Minimal and customizable UI: Zed UI keeps clutter out of the way. It's quite customizable as well.
